Understanding the Online Shopping Lingos : Online Selling Dictionary

Add to Cart? Checkout? Shipping? Are these the words you often hear or read when you are doing your online shopping? Oh yes, those are words we easily understand especially those avid shoppers. But is the world of e-commerce or online shopping evolving now? Is it getting millennial or GenZ too?

Here are some of the words or abbreviations you often see and giving you circling stars on year head.

1. HM - How much? Use this if you want to ask for the price.


2. LP - Last Price. If you want to negotiate the terms or price of the item, use LP to ask the seller.


3. LF - Looking For. Add "LF" to your posts when you are looking for something to purchase. Maybe goods or services,


4.  RFS - Reason for Selling. Include "RFS" in your posts especially when you are selling, second-hand or preloved items. By this, buyers will have an idea why you are selling the item or of it's still in good condition.

WW - When Worn. Commonly used in feedbacks of clothes buyers. If you are a seller, use "WW" to show the buyers how the clothes will look like when worn.


6. SF - Shipping Fee. This is the courier's rate, also sometimes used to know which courier to use.


7. COD - Cash on Delivery. Payment is collected at delivery instead of paying before the products are shipped.


8. MOP - Mode of Payment. This is the available or preferred payment options of the seller or buyer. Can be cash, bank transfer, credit card and other payment channels.


9. HF - Handling Fee. An amount charged to a customer on top of the item's price. Sellers sometimes requires this especially to meet-up clients - this will cover the transportation fee going to meet-up place.


10. PM - Private / Personal Message. The seller or buyer wants to talk to you in private and not in the comment box. Most of the time regarding the price or payment options.

11. PTPA - Permission to Post Admin. This is commonly used in Facebook Private Groups. This serves as courtesy for the admin to approve your post and be visible in their group.


12. EUC, VGUC, GUC - Excellent Used Condition, Very Good Used Condition, Good Used Condition. Applicable and commonly used to second-hand or preloved items. To determine if the product is still in good condition.


13. Mine, Steal, Grab, Yours - Bidding and Live Selling
       
 These terms are commonly used for items that are open for bidding.

Mine - you will get the indicated price is the seller replied "yours".
Steal - indicated price + "declared increment"
Grab - if you want to get the item, use Grab + the price you wanted to pay (note that the price should be quite far from the ongoing bidding price)
Yours - seller's response to whoever wins the bidding
